National Champions To Be Honored at Jan. 26 Men's Basketball Game

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The 2001 NCAA champion Santa Clara University women's soccer team will be honored at halftime of the January 26 men's basketball game against Loyola Marymount and the team will be available for autographs after the game at the Leavey Center.

Fans wishing to take photographs with members of the team and the national championship trophy will be able to do so following the annual West Coast Conference game against the Lions, which is scheduled to tipoff at 3 p.m. Tickets are available by calling the athletic ticket office at 408/554-4660 or by clicking here.

The Santa Clara women's soccer team finished the 2001 season with a 23-2 record and its first-ever national title in its eighth overall trip to the NCAA College Cup. The Broncos shutout No. 1 ranked North Carolina 1-0 in the national title game at Ford Stadium in Dallas on December 9 after knocking-off Florida in overtime by a score of 3-2 in the semifinals.
