Post Game Quotes Ohio State vs. Santa Clara

Dec. 12, 2001

Recap| Box Score

Santa Clara Head Coach Dick Davey
"Jim has them playing very well. We played very poorly tonight. We've seen the tapes on them and how they like to run away with it in the second half. They didn't have to wait that long tonight.

"They are a good team, tonight they were very efficient at what they did. We didn't do much of anything tonight. They were able to do anything they wanted."

Ohio State Head Coach Jim O'Brien
"Tonight it was our turn. Our guys deserve an awful lot of credit and it has nothing to do with winning by a lopsided amount. It has everything to do with our approach. We talked about pressuring the ball, guarding, making the extra pass and certainly we made our share of shots tonight.

"I thought we had great production from the center position in rebounding, scoring and blocking shots. I thought the three of them (Velimir Radinovic, Will Dudley and Terence Dials) did really well.

"Everyone was tuned in tonight. We talked about before the game about getting out early and not coming out sluggish. I was a little hard on them the last couple of days, I challenged them and they all responded."

Brian Brown
"We came out with more aggression tonight. They were a much better team than what they showed, but we played tough. Hopefully, that will carry over to the Louisville game.

"We want to keep a solid game when we go up big. We set a goal to have 12 turnovers or less for a game. When we get ahead, we can't have turnovers.

"I am ready to get on the road. Playing at home in front of our crowd is great, but we are ready for road games and to prepare for the Big Ten.

"It is always fun to have a big lead because you just go out and play basketball."

Boban Savovic
"This was an important win for us heading to Louisville. There was a challenge for us to step up tonight and play defense.

"It is fun playing in any game, that is why we are here.

"That was a great thing (setting the single-game 3-point record) for us to set a team record. We are just going to keep shooting and hopefully that will help us for our next game."
