Gonzaga 96, Santa Clara 62

Recap| Final Stats| Notes

Head Coach Dick Davey
"Gonzaga came out firing on all cylinders, were very efficient in what they were doing and they executed. They played hard on both ends of the court and they were very aggressive on the boards. People think this Gonzaga team isn't as good as some they've had, but that isn't necessarily the case. They are strong inside and their outside shooting, as evidenced tonight, certainly can win ballgames for them.

"Gonzaga really beat us about as badly as anyone has in a long time. The credit really goes to their team and their coaching staff.

"Blake Stepp is really playing like the league player of the year and it is only the halfway mark (in the schedule). Beyond his shooting skills, he is a great passer, is intelligent and does a good job of setting other people up."
