SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - San Jose native Brandon Worthy scored 19 points as Loyola Marymount won its first road game of the season 73-61 over Santa Clara.

With the victory, the Lions (10-15 overall, 4-6 WCC) extended their winning streak to three and swept the Broncos in conference play for the first time in 13 years.

Meanwhile, Santa Clara (11-11, 2-7) has lost seven of its last eight games, equaling its worst conference start ever.

Charles Brown and Keith Kincade each provided 12 points for LMU, while Jim Howell paced the Broncos with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

In the first half, the Lions shot better from behind the three-point line, shooting 44 percent, 4-for-9, than they did from the rest of the field, shooting 32 percent, 6-for-19.

Santa Clara's shooting collapsed soon after intermission, as the Broncos watched a 33-28 halftime lead disappear when they could not sink a shot for nearly eight minutes.

Brandon Rohe began the second half with a jumper that put Santa Clara ahead by seven points, 35-28, its largest lead of the night. However, the Broncos missed their next 10 consecutive shots, and the Lions racked off 17 unanswered points, of which Worthy had seven, to go ahead 45-35 and take control of the game.
