SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's basketball program will host its annual luncheon on Oct. 26 at Alumni Park, adjacent to the Leavey Center on the Mission Campus.
The event begins at 10 a.m. with a team scrimmage that is open to the luncheon participants and their families. The players and coaches will be available after practice for autographs, photos and to introduce the 2002-2003 Bronco squad to SCU basketball supporters. Following practice, there will be a luncheon at Alumni Park.
"We really appreciate the people who have supported our program over the years and this is one way we can really connect with them on a one-on-one basis," said Santa Clara men's basketball coach Dick Davey. "Not only have many of these supporters contributed to the success of our program financially, but they've been there through thick and thin at our games and through cards and letters of support. Believe it or not, there have even been a few who have made coaching 'suggestions' which I really do appreciate.
"Our players and staff really look forward to this event every year. It really is a special time."
