SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's basketball team will return to the friendly confines of the Leavey Center Saturday night at 7 p.m. for a non-league matchup against the University of Washington.

Santa Clara enters the game with a 3-2 record following a 70-55 loss at undefeated Fresno State Wednesday night in front of 9,540 Bulldog fans at Selland Arena. The Broncos opened the season with three-straight wins for the first time in eight seasons before dropping a heartbreaking 71-69 decision to rival San Jose State at the Leavey Center last weekend.
Junior guard Kyle Bailey leads Santa Clara with a 16.3 points per game average despite a lower back injury that has prevented the Fairbanks, Alaska native from playing 100 percent this season. He is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Huskies.
Freshman Brandon Rohe and sophomore Ethan Rohde combine to shoot over 50 percent from behind the three-point and the Broncos are connecting on 42.5 percent of their shots from that range. Santa Clara is averaging 72.8 points per game and is outrebounding their opponents by a 4.4 margin per game.
Saturday's Fresno State game marked the debut of sophomore forward Jordan Legge. The Mesa, Arizona native has suffered from chronic swelling in his knee and underwent surgery during the preseason. He missed the first four games of the season and played just 18 minutes at Fresno State, making his only attempt from the field and grabbing three rebounds.
The Huskies enter the game with a 1-3 record, having dropped its first three games of the season for the first time since 1993-94. UW opened the season with a 56-53 home loss to Montana State then dropped consecutive road games at UNLV (82-61) and Gonzaga (95-89, ot).
Doug Wrenn scored 10 of his 18 points in the second half as Washington rebounded to beat Wyoming 79-70 Thursday night, giving Lorenzo Romar his first victory since returning to his alma mater as head coach this season. Will Conroy scored 13 points, Curtis Allen had 12 and Bobby Jones 11 for the Huskies, who built a 38-34 halftime lead and steadily pulled away after the break.
