Santa Clara 81, San Francisco 75

Recap| Final Stats

Santa Clara Head Coach Dick Davey
On pace of the offense
"We were trying to be aggressive against the pressure."

On Gonzaga
"We are going to have to play efficient, close to flawless basketball."

Santa Clara Guard Kyle Bailey
"This game had a little more importance (than the last meeting on Feb. 28) because of what happens afterward. If we lose, we have that (team discussion) about next year. I don't want to have that talk."

On playing third game in three nights and facing Gonzaga
"I love it. It is a great opportunity versus a great team and competition. "

San Francisco Head Coach Phil Mathews
"Bailey was incredible tonight. We had some opportunities, just didn't get it done. Tyrone Riley went 0-for-5 from three-point range. That's unlike him. We had opportunities. I felt Santa Clara took advantage of theirs and won the ballgame. I felt we forgot about James for a stretch there, where we didn't throw the ball into him like we should have. We wanted to push the ball at them all night. They played last night, we didn't. We did that in the first half, we didn't in the second. If Santa Clara shoots the ball like they have in the last two nights, they have a chance against Gonzaga."

USF Forward James Bayless
"It comes down to the last five minutes. We didn't knock down the shots that I felt we should have down the stretch."
