SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Commissioner Michael Gilleran announced today the 2003-04 West Coast Conference national and regional television package for men's and women's basketball. In conjunction with ESPN, Fox Sports Net, and Fox Sports Digital Nets, the league TV package contains a total of 20 men's and women's basketball broadcasts.

This year's schedule includes 13 regular season games televised on Fox Sports Networks, with games appearing on a combination of FSN Northwest, FSN Bay Area and FSN West/West2. Fox Sports Digital Nets will air select West Coast Conference games available on FSN West/West2 on its three super-regional cable networks (Atlantic, Central or Pacific), which provide the best out-of-market games from 22 regional sports networks across the country. In addition to the Fox Sports Net broadcasts, ESPN will televise six WCC men's basketball games during the 2003-04 season, marking the largest WCC television package with ESPN in league history.

The WCC is also proud to announce that all eight women's basketball teams are featured in the Fox Sports regular season television package for the first time in league history.

Fox Sports Net will be the home to 11 additional broadcasts involving WCC teams, including matchups such as Georgia at Gonzaga (in Spokane Arena), Saint Mary's at Arizona and Colorado at Pepperdine.

The WCC's Fox Sports package tips-off on Sunday, January 9 with a Bay Area battle between charter members San Francisco and Santa Clara. The schedule culminates with Pepperdine facing Saint Mary's in what could be a battle for a high seeding at the WCC Championships. The WCC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships take place March 4-8, 2004 at the Leavey Center on the Santa Clara campus.
