"(The win) seems like an eternity coming. Tonight was probably our best overall performance of the year from the standpoint of our defense and making shot. Those two things came together at the same time and we are really encouraged and hope we can keep it going.
"I think we generated a lot of easy shots off our defense. We were able to get some steals, get the ball down the court and get some layups. Before the game we had talked a lot about getting layups - either let's throw it in to the post or in the transition. Our guys did a good job of that."

"I kind of had a bad taste in my mouth about our performance here last year so this was a big game. This was a big game because these are two teams who haven't done as well as they would have liked to this point. Our character showed tonight. This is a team that won't lay down and die. We came out and played really hard and it feels really good to win."
