Quotes - Nevada at Santa Clara

Recap |  Final Stats

Dick Davey, on end of game chances: "When it was 74-70, we wanted to go to the interior for a basket, but we did not get one. Danny (Pariseau) had a three that went in and then came out. Once we were down 76-70, we had to go for three."

Davey, on defending Nevada's Nick Fazekas: "You know that he is going to get some points but you just try to minimize the damage as much as possible. At first we were playing him straight up, but then we were forced to bring help as the game progressed. He is such a good shooter and he has tremendous touch. You have to make him alter his shot."

Davey, on offensive execution: "We had some good moments on offense and we got some decent shots. We shot about 50 percent so that is pretty good. They are a tough defensive team and they put you in some difficult spots but I thought that we adjusted well."

Sean Denison, on game: "They made a number of good plays down the stretch and we just did not do enough to win it. We came out and played hard and we were right there with them."

Danny Pariseau, on facing Nevada: "It was a good game for us to go up against a top 25 team. We needed to get a win against a team like that though, especially on our home court, but we came up a little short tonight."

Pariseau, on three-point attempt at the end of the game: "Coach called a good play to get me open and I just need to knock that shot down. I hope that he has confidence in me and I can get that chance again."

Pariseau, on team's shooting: "We were shooting well tonight but I thought that we needed to push the tempo a bit more. If we pushed the ball more, we would have gotten more opportunities and more shots."

Pariseau, looking ahead to next week: "We need to put this loss behind us right away. It is nice that we have a game right away Monday so that we can just focus on San Jose State and not dwell on tonight."
