Santa Clara Athletics is proud to announce it will host an Athletic Training Education Seminar on Sat., June 8 on the Mission Campus.  The ATEO Seminar will be presented by NATA Hall of Fame Athletic Trainer Dr. Rod Walters.  Athletic Trainers at both the high school and college level are invited to the Athletic Training seminar at Santa Clara featuring a review of issues facing Athletic Trainers.  The Seminar will be free of charge and hosted at the Leavey Center at Santa Clara University.

As an Athletic Trainer directing health care on the collegiate level from 1980 until 2007, Dr. Walters knows how important protocols and general procedures are to Athletic Training work. "Based on the need, I developed an annual seminar to address a variety of the topics we are facing today," said Walters. "The sessions incorporate topics which warrant discussion and attention by Athletic Training staffs annually."

Walters understands how important it is to review protocols and processes. "I developed this seminar series based on NATA Position Statements and best-case practices from leaders in the Athletic Training and Sports Medicine profession," added Walters.

Santa Clara assistant athletic trainer Scott Heinrichson (contact him at 408-554-6967), who is coordinating the Seminar, said it's the only one presented by Dr. Walters on the West Coast this year. Heinrichson said it is a great opportunity to have such a quality professional in the field of Athletic Training directing conversation on such important topics. "This is a unique opportunity at Santa Clara for us to host this type of seminar. We are all looking forward to it and welcome Athletic Trainers from the Bay Area and beyond to take part in this day of education with us," said Heinrichson.

Attendees receive seven Board of Certification Continuing Education units.  The seminar is free of charge. Please go to rodwalters.com for more information, including registration.
