On A Mission is our new Department-wide unifying theme, branding tag line and battle cry to bind the entire Department - student-athletes, coaches, staff, volunteers, Ruff Riders, spirit groups, Bronco Bench Foundation members and supporters. This year the Broncos are On A Mission - both literally and figuratively.
We presented the On A Mission logo and video montage to all the student-athletes two weeks ago with most of the BBF Trustees in attendance and we have been very pleased with the response (see attached photo from that evening).
What does On A Mission mean? It's a mindset and a culture we are creating about the pursuit of our goals and the execution of our mission. It means we are focused, driven, passionate, committed, proud, selfless, relentless (borrowing a term from our baseball program), and tough – Bronco tough. It means we are entitled to nothing and appreciative of everything. It means we are thoroughly invested in this great University and take enormous pride in our vital role representing Santa Clara and shaping these young lives. We absolutely measure our success in victories and in championships, and also in diplomas, honor rolls, Rhodes Scholarships, valedictorians, and the respect of our peers - and in outcomes that are impossible to precisely measure yet undeniable like character and heart and compassion for others.
