Santa Clara head men's basketball coach Kerry Keating announced the 2014 Bronco signing class on Wed., Nov. 13. The 2014 Santa Clara class includes Stephen Edwards (Oklahoma City, Okla.), Matt Hubbard (Colville, Wash.) and Evan Wardlow (Woodland Hills, Calif.).

In his first year at Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City, Okla. … head coach at P.C. West is Lenny Burt … previously played at Del City High School in Oklahoma City, Okla. … his junior year he averaged 16.1 ppg with six rpg, five apg and three spg … his sophomore he averaged seven ppg, three apg and three rpg … involved in People to People Ambassador program, traveling to Washington, D.C. … played football as youngster … played for Oklahoma Wizards AAU team and head coach was Davis Hudiberg.

"I chose Santa Clara because it gave me opportunities to succeed both on and off the court. There are a lot of resources in the Silicon Valley. I felt like I was home on my visit. I have really enjoyed getting to know Coach Keating and all the coaches."

Matt Hubbard
Senior at Colville, Wash. … three-year letterwinner under head coach Brad Sprague … averaged 18 ppg, 14.5 rpg and 4 bpg his junior year … last season in one of his best games he had 26 points and 23 rebounds against Sandpoint … his junior they lost in the District 7 playoffs … his sophomore they were in the Sweet 16 of the state playoffs … lettered in track once and golf twice … in track he competes in the discus, shot put and high jump … has shot a low round of 85 … sophomore year went to regionals in golf … member of the National Honor Society … played for the Emerald City Pioneers AAU team and the head coach was Jason Baskett.

"Santa Clara is the best place for me. It's a place I can push myself to be the best person and the best player possible. Being in the Silicon Valley I knew it was a great place to be in the business world. All the players are great and I felt really comfortable with Coach Keating and his assistants. I know they will push me to be the best and reach my full potential."

Senior at El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills, Calif. … three-year letterwinner under Joe Wyatt … his junior year he averaged 10 ppg, 7 rpg and 3 apg … team was 28-4 his junior year and lost in City Division I championship and lost in first round of the Open Division State … his sophomore year he averaged eight ppg and six rpg … member of the Hope for Jude, a hospital club at his high school – donate toys, letters to kids, etc. for children with cancer and childhood diseases … member of the Aim High AAU Club under head coach Kenny Smith … also played for Double Pump for head coach Christian Aurand.

"I chose Santa Clara because I liked the campus. It's also a really good academic school. They are on the rise as a basketball program. I was really comfortable with the coaching staff. Once I graduate from Santa Clara, I will be able to have a real career if basketball doesn't work out."
