Bronco Men's Basketball Player Gets Ready For Foreign Tour in Europe

Santa Clara redshirt-freshman Jarvis Pugh will depart Fri., Aug. 9 on the 2014 Global Sports Academy Goodwill Tour that will take the team to Belgium, Germany, England and Holland from Aug. 11-19. The team will play five games and also do a lot of sightseeing around Europe as well.

Global Sports Academy is a not-for-profit organization created to arrange athletic competition between equally matched teams at all levels. To "Promote International Goodwill" and better understanding between nations through sports is the major goal.

In the video, Pugh tells EYEBRONCO reporter and teammate Yannick Atanga how thankful he is to the Bronco supporters that helped make this trip possible.  He also said he has never been to Europe.  

The team will start by meeting in Chicago and will hold their first practice at Northwestern University.  The head coach for the team is Northwestern men's basketball assistant Patrick Baldwin.  There are 11 players from eight different conferences including the Big Ten, Big 12 and Big East.

The team will first travel to Brussels, Belgium. The third day they will travel to London, England to spend the day sightseeing.  They will visit the Tower of London, London Bridge, St. James Palace, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and of course Big Ben.

Day four they will travel to Amsterdam to sightsee and play their first game vs. Soba.

Day five they will do some sightseeing in Brussels and then play Belgrade later that day.

Day six they will depart for Dusseldorf and also stop in Cologne.  They will play their third game vs. the Rhein Stars.

Day seven they will sightsee in Dusseldorf.  That evening they will play Recklinghausen.

Day eight they will depart for a day trip to Brues and Ghent in Germany.  They will play their final game vs. Oxaco that evening.

Day nine they will depart for home!
