Santa Clara head men's basketball coach Kerry Keating announced the 2015 Bronco signing class on Wed., Nov. 12, 2014. The 2015 Santa Clara class includes Matthew Hauser (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), Henrik Jadersten (Sollentuna, Sweden), Tony Lewis (San Antonio, Texas) and Bryson Lockley (Houston, Texas).

Matthew Hauser
Senior at Thousand Oaks High School … coached by Rich Endres and Rod Stillwell … previously played at Saguaro High School in Arizona … averaged 23 ppg with 4 rpg, 4 apg and 2.5 spg his junior year … has two school records: 81 3-point FGs and 687 points in the 2013-14 season … in his sophomore year, he averaged 13 ppg with 4 rpg, 3 apg and 2 spg … named Marmonte League MVP … made First Team All CIF … named to the All-State Cal-Hi Sports in 2013-14 season … in 2012-13, was an Arizona All-State Honorable Mention … scored a game high 41 points against Mission Prep in Championship game of Arroye Grande Tournament … game high of 37 points vs. Independence High School … led his Saguaro High School team to a 23-9 record and second round of state playoffs … also lettered in golf at Thousand Oaks … made the All-Marmonte League team for golf in 2013-14.

Tony Lewis
Senior at Central Catholic High School … coached by Bruce McConaghy … team was 28-8 last year … his junior year he averaged 14.0 ppg and 10 rpg … lost in the regional final of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPS) playoffs … two-time TAPS All-State performer … on the video team at his church, working the cameras … played for 210 Jayhawks AAU team and was coached by Ky O'Dell and Raymond Briggs.

"First, educationally – being the type of school Santa Clara University it, I thought that was really important part of my decision. Coach Keating and the whole coaching staff and the players really helped me build a bond with them. I have talked to a number of them since my visit and I really like them all. The West Coast Conference – playing against good competition night in and night out - also sold me. I have never been to California - I loved the weather and the campus is beautiful. It's a mid-sized school that I felt really comfortable with and I feel like I can get to know a lot of people on campus pretty fast because of the size."
Bryson Lockley
Senior at Cy-Fair High School … coached by Chad Suleimanji … averaged 16 ppg, 10 rpg and 4 apg his junior year … named to the All-Academic Team four years in a row … was the Team MVP his junior year … made Second Team All-District in his junior year … is listed as the "Guy Lewis" Top 50 players in the Houston area … scored a career high 22 points and 12 rebounds against South Grand Prairie … is a member of the National Honor Society … as a member of the Houston Defenders 15U who finished fourth in the AAU National Championships … played in the Nike Peach Jam with Houston Hoops 16U.

""One of the major factors that led me to choose Santa Clara was the strong connection made between me and my future teammates during my recruiting visit in June of this year. What I value most is strong genuine relationships with people who have the same mindset and character as I do. My father plays an important role in my life and he has trained me to understand the importance of a man's "character." He has always been very selective when he places me in another man's authority. Ever since I was a little boy, he's always said, "be careful who you follow." I remembered that when I first met the coaching staff. I felt they were genuine and really cared about Bryson the "young man" and not just Bryson the "basketball player." I remember reading the white board during my visit and thinking, "WOW THESE GUYS REALLY SEE ME." I was shocked when I saw the words "RENAISSANCE MAN." This is what my father has called me since I was a little boy. I can remember him always telling me that "a man should know a little bit about a lot of things." At that moment, I realized that the coaches thought a lot like my father. I was impressed. My father got emotional. Days later I asked my dad why he was so emotional. He answered by saying, "I was overwhelmed with joy to know that another man saw you the same as I do." It was at that moment that I knew Santa Clara was the place for me. Family is important to me. My uncle gave me some great advice that helped me make my final decision. He said, "go where you will be celebrated, and not tolerated." I remember thinking, "WOW, simple words from a simple man." My uncle is a smart man and I value his opinion. All the signs were there, I just had to make my decision. I began to think about all of my experiences during the recruiting season and it didn't take me long to realize that Santa Clara was the total package.
