SANTA CLARA, Calif. — On this week's edition of the Bronco Weekly Sports Wrap, SCU student-athletes Denzel Johnson and Nici Gilday give the latest on Santa Clara sports. With both basketball teams, both tennis teams and women's water polo in action last weekend, it was a busy week for the Broncos.

Part of that was such a great moment when Bronco fans got to see men's basketball player Andrew Papenfus back on the court. The senior from Snowmass, Colo. underwent brain surgery to remove a tumor in October 2014. Listen to Johnson, Papenfus, head coach Kerry Keating and sophomore Nate Kratch talk about the moment.

The men's basketball team returns home to face the conference's Northwest teams, No. 2 Gonzaga (Thu., 8 p.m. on ESPN2) and Portland (Sat., 5 p.m. on TheW.tv). Johnson sits down with freshman teammate Matt Hubbard to preview the matchups. In EYEBRONCO news, the fourth edition of "Long Walks with Jared" came out yesterday. This one featured Bronco sophomore guard Jared Brownridge and West Coast Conference commissioner Lynn Holzman. Gilday sat down with Jared to talk about the series.

Women's water polo played three matches to open its season last week. After falling to a top-10 team in Hawai'i Thursday night, the Broncos picked up a 10-3 win against Cal State Monterey Bay and 13-7 win against Fresno Pacific Saturday. EYEBRONCO caught up with senior Lauren Radich to talk about the weekend. The team heads south for the UCSD Triton Invitational Saturday and Sunday.

The women's basketball team faced a tough slate last week with games against BYU and San Diego. They are back on the road for a Northwest trip to Gonzaga Thursday at 6 p.m. and Portland Saturday at 2 p.m. Check out their game against the Bulldogs on TheW.tv.

Men's tennis played a close match against UC Davis at home last Saturday and fell to the Aggies 4-3. The Broncos host USF to open WCC play this Sunday at 11 a.m.

Women's tennis dropped its first match of the season 4-1 to San Jose State on Sunday. The team hosts dual matches against UC Davis Saturday at 12 p.m. and Cal Poly Sunday at 2 p.m.

Softball heads out to Arizona for the Grand Canyon Kickoff Friday and Saturday. They'll play two games against Northern Colorado and two games against Tulsa. Best of luck to the team this weekend and all season.

Take a look at the work EYEBRONCO has put in over the last seven days at the end of the episode.
