SANTA CLARA, Calif. — On this week's edition of the Bronco weekly sports wrap, hosts and student-athletes Denzel Johnson and Nici Gilday get you up to date on the latest in Bronco sports during one of the busiest times of the athletic year for SCU.

Men's basketball made it a Senior Day to remember as Jared Brownridge hit a game-winning shot with less than 10 seconds to go to life Santa Clara over Saint Mary's 71-70. EYEBRONCO caught up with Brownridge and Johnson sat down with fellow senior Brandon Clark to talk about the win. The team heads to Las Vegas for the WCC Championships where they'll play LMU Friday at 8 p.m. The game will be on BYUtv and TheW.tv, and you can listen along by tuning in to 1590 AM KLIV.

Women's basketball went on the road for the final two games of the season last week. On Saturday, the team fell to Saint Mary's on a jump shot in the final seconds. EYEBRONCO reporter David Gentile sat down with Gilday to talk about leading the nation in free throw percentage and gearing up for the WCC Championships. The team also heads to the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas and will take on Portland Thursday at 2 p.m. The game will be on BYUtv and TheW.tv.

Baseball had a busy weekend with four games against Eastern Michigan at Schott Stadium. They won the first two to get on a five-game winning streak and dropped a doubleheader on Sunday. EYEBRONCO spoke with Jake Steffens and Jose Vizcaino, Jr. after the team's Friday night victory. Next up is a midweek game at Cal Poly on Tuesday at 6 p.m. before a trip to the Big XII's Kansas State for a three-game weekend series beginning Friday.

Softball hosted the Santa Clara Marriott Invitational and went 2-2 with a pair of wins vs. Howard and two losses to No. 17 Washington. EYEBRONCO spoke with Briana Rios about the weekend. The Broncos head to Stanford to play in the Stanford Invitational Saturday and Sunday. They will play the Cardinal twice and Minnesota once.

After being rained out over the weekend, men's tennis opens conference play vs. San Francisco on Wednesday at home. They'll then travel to Weber State on Friday and BYU on Saturday. The women's tennis team also had the week off. They return to action Sunday at 4 p.m. at USF.

Women's water polo topped Claremont and Occidental on Sunday at the Cal Lutheran Invitational. Next up is the Aggie Shootout at Davis this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Men's golf finished third at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz., with the final round coming Monday. They head to Alabama For the Tiger Invitational beginning Sunday.

Women's golf finished tied for fifth at the Red Rocks Invitational. Annie Freman and Kristin Le tied for 15th individually. They don't return to the links until March 23.

Track will head to Turlock to take part in the Kim Duyst Invitational on Saturday. The teams are coming off a strong performance in which three runners set personal best marks and the men's team won the Distance Medley Relay at the West Coast Invitational and Relays.

Women's rowing had a strong showing at the Davis Invite where they placed first in every race they took part in except Novice 8 where they finished second. The Broncos next race March 28 and 29 at the San Diego Crew Classic.

Men's rowing raced at the Davis Invitational on Sunday, with four of five boats taking first place, and returns to the water Sunday to face Sacramento State at Lake Natoma in Folsom, Calif. 

Sand Volleyball gets its spring season underway with matches this Friday through Saturday at the Stanford Duals.
