Three Court Coaches Announced For 2015 USA Basketball Men's U19 World Championship Team Training Camp

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO (June 3, 2015 Collegiate head coaches Donnie Bostwick of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas), Kerry Keating from Santa Clara University and LeVelle Moton of North Carolina Central University will serve as court coaches for the 2015 USA Basketball Men's U19 World Championship Team training camp. The USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team committee selected the court coaches. 

"The court coaches are just as important as any individuals in the USA Basketball program," said Jim Boeheim Syracuse Hall of Fame head coach and chair of the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team Committee. "Part of sustaining a successful program is insuring that the instruction will be the best we can provide."

The three court coaches will assist the 2015 USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team coaching staff during training camp, which will take place June 13-19 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship, will be played June 27-July 5 in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, where the USA will be led by the University of Arizona's Sean Miller and assistant coaches Ed Cooley of Providence College and Archie Miller of the University of Dayton.

In his four seasons at Southwestern Assemblies of God (2011-12 to present), Bostwick has collected a 108-33 record (.766 winning percentage), and he led his team to two conference championships and the 2013 NAIA Championship game.  

"I am so honored to have this opportunity," said Bostwick. "God has blessed me with an amazing journey, which includes winning national championships, traveling to Africa, Asia, Europe, Hawaii and speaking at many coaching events, including the NCAA Final Four, but I place this experience with USA Basketball at the top. Representing my country and my God is both humbling and pure joy.

"I take this opportunity as a privilege and will cherish it."

Completing in 2014-15 his eighth season (2007-08 to present) as head coach at Santa Clara, Keating has compiled a 128-139 record. He has led his team to titles in the 2013 College Basketball Invitational postseason tournament and the 2011 CollegeInsider.com Tournament.

An assistant at UCLA for four seasons (2003-04 to 2006-07), Keating helped the Bruins to back-to-back NCAA Final Four appearances (2006 and 2007), two Pacific-10 Conference titles and a 91-41 record (.690 winning percentage).

"I am humbled and honored to be included in the USA U19 training camp," Keating said. "I am looking forward to helping the staff and players in any way possible as they prepare for the (FIBA U19 World Championship) and look forward to seeing them progress towards their ultimate goal of a gold medal.

"USA Basketball has always had a special place in my coaching career dating back to helping P.J. Carlesimo in the 1991 World University Games (training) camp - a team that coincidentally included Sean Miller."

Moton will enter his first USA basketball coaching assignment after becoming the first men's basketball coach in North Carolina Central history to repeat as Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference regular-season champions with a 16-0 record in 2014-15.

In his six years at his alma mater, Moton has amassed a 114-75 record (.603 winning percentage), which includes three 20-win seasons. 

The NCCUHall of Famer joined the program's staff after serving as the boys basketball coach at Sanderson High School in North Carolina from 2004 to 2007, where he led the Spartans to an overall record of 59-25 (.702 winning percentage) and back-to-back North Carolina High School Athletic Association Cap-7 Conference tournament championships (2006 and 2007).

"It means the world to me to be selected to USA Basketball," Moton said. "I am humbled and honored to have an opportunity to represent my country and impact young lives while doing so. As a kid, we all dream of USA Basketball opportunities, and I thank God that mine has come true."

Training camp will begin on the evening of June 13 followed practices twice a day. Finalists for the team are expected to be announced on Wednesday June 17, and the official 12-member team will be selected prior to its departure for Greece. Athletes eligible for this team must be U.S. citizens who are 19 years old or younger (born on or after Jan. 1, 1996.
