Nate Kratch Named to NABC 2014-15 Honors Court

SANTA CLARA, Calif.Nate Kratch of men's basketball was named to The National Association of Basketball Coaches 2014-15 Honors Court today, recognizing those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season, with a record number of 1,000 student-athletes from more than 350 colleges and universities. The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.  @NABC1927 invites you to share the success of these student athletes using #NABC #HONORSCOURT.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:

1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.

2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2014-15 academic year.

3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.

4. Member of an NCAA Divisions I, II, III, or NAIA Divisions I or II institution with a NABC member coach.

"We are thrilled for Nate to be recognized for his academic efforts," said Santa Clara head coach Kerry Keating. "Nate has completed his undergraduate degree in three years here at Santa Clara, which is a tremendous feat in itself. Considering the time it requires to study and compete on the basketball court, for him to do it at such a high level is even more impressive. I am excited that Nate will now be able to work on a master's degree, furthering his opportunities now and for his future endeavors."

Kratch, who graduated with a degree in Psychology and a 3.4 GPA, made 19 starts and played in 32 games in 2014-15 while averaging 5.2 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game in 21.0 minutes per game.
