Senior forward Nate Kratch and sophomore guard Matt Hauser each scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures as the Broncos (5-6) downed UC Riverside, 77-53. Hauser, who tallied 10 assists, recorded his third-career double-double (all this season) and Kai Healy (10 points/10 rebounds) posted his first ever in a game the Broncos held the Highlanders to 32 percent shooting from the floor and just eight second-half field goals.

Senior guard Jared Brownridge had his lowest point total of the season in the UCR game, tallying seven points, but remains the team's leading scorer at 17.6 ppg, which ranks eighth in the West Coast Conference. Quick Hits...
• Herb Sendek is in his first season as Santa Clara head coach after three successful stops leading Division I programs. Sendek, one of the three youngest coaches to reach 400 career victories, is in his 23rd season as a head coach. He compiled a 413-295 (.583) record, including 39 victories against top 25 teams, at Arizona State, North Carolina State and Miami (Ohio). Sendek was a coach of the year in the Pac-10, Atlantic Coast Conference and Mid-American Conference.
Matt Hauser (career-high 18 points/10 assists) and Kai Healy (10 points/10 rebounds) hit a milestone in Tuesday's win vs. UC Riverside, becoming the first Bronco teammates to record double-doubles in the same game since Marc Trasolini (16 points/10 rebounds) and Troy Payne (12 points/10 rebounds) on Feb. 11, 2010 vs. Loyola Marymount.
Jared Brownridge, a preseason All-WCC choice, has moved up both the Santa Clara all-time scoring list and the WCC career chart this season. During the first two games, Brownridge (1,910 points) passed Brian Jones (1,722/1996-01), Harold Keeling (1981-85/1,731) and Kurt Rambis (1976-80/1,736) on the SCU list. Brownridge is unlikely to reach all-time leader Kevin Foster (2008-13), who had 2,423 points, placing him second in WCC history. Brownridge moved into the WCC's career top 25 scoring list (to 23rd) with 32 points in the win against Sacred Heart (Nov. 21). He jumped to 15th over the course of the next three games. Brownridge is on pace to become only the 11th player in league history to score 2,000 or more career points.
• Brownridge, Hauser, Nate Kratch and Jarvis Pugh have started all 11 games. Brownridge and Hauser are averaging 36-plus minutes per game and Pugh nearly 33. Brownridge played a season-low 30 minutes against Northern Colorado (Nov. 19) due to foul trouble, but has played at least 34 minutes in the other 10 contests. Hauser has played less than 34 minutes only one game.
KJ Feagin, the team's starting point guard and an All-WCC Freshman team pick last year, has yet to suit up this season due to a broken bone in his foot. Feagin was injured during the first week of preseason practice and is out of action indefinitely. Sophomore guard Evan Wardlow (hamstring) and junior forward Matt Hubbard (ankle) have also been limited with injuries. Wardlow reinjured his hamstring in practice this week and is out indefinitely.
