Men’s Basketball to Play USC in Home-and-Home Series

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara and USC have agreed on a two-year, home-and-home series in men's basketball.

The Broncos and Trojans will play in Los Angeles on Dec. 14, 2017, and the following season in Santa Clara on a date yet to be determined.

"We're thrilled to be able to add USC as a future men's basketball opponent and bring a Pac-12 team into Leavey Center," said Santa Clara director of athletics Renee Baumgartner said. "A great relationship with alums from both USC and Santa Clara made this scheduling opportunity possible."

The programs have met 30 times, but just once since 1983-84. USC defeated Santa Clara, 86-73, on Nov. 15, 2010, in Los Angeles. USC holds a 22-8 advantage in the series, which dates to 1917.

The Broncos (5-7) play at Valparaiso Thursday in the team's final nonconference game of the season. Santa Clara opens West Coast Conference play at BYU on Dec. 29.

USC (10-0) is ranked No. 23 by the Associated Press and 25th the USA Today Coaches poll.
