SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's basketball has just four games remaining in the 2016-17 regular season, including three at home.
After splitting a pair of Bay Area road games last week, including Saturday's victory over Pacific, the Broncos (14-13, 8-6) open a three-game homestand Thursday against Pepperdine. Santa Clara, which is tied for fourth in the West Coast Conference standings, just one game behind third-place BYU, faces San Diego Saturday. The Broncos are the most improved team in the WCC so far, with a +5.0 game improvement from last year's 11-20 mark.
Seniors Jared Brownridge and Nate Kratch will play their final home game on Thursday, Feb. 23, when Pacific visits Leavey Center. Those two have been iron men for the Broncos the last four years, playing in every contest. On Saturday, Brownridge and Kratch each played in his 123rd consecutive game, eclipsing the school record of 122 set by Mitch Burley from 1985-89.
Brownridge (2,213 points) ranks second in school history and fourth all-time in the WCC record book in scoring.
