Three Men’s Basketball Players Earn All-WCC Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara men's basketball had three players earn recognition on the 2016-17 All-West Coast Conference teams.

Senior Jared Brownridge joined rare company with his third-straight appearance on the All-WCC First Team, while sophomore KJ Feagin earned a spot on the second team despite missing 12 games due to injury. Senior Nate Kratch secured honorable mention recognition.

Brownridge, the No. 4 all-time scorer in conference history (2,253 career points), is just the fourth player in school history to earn three straight first-team All-WCC honors, joining:

Feagin is averaging 14.6 points (second on the team) and 4.6 assists (also second) per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the floor, including a team-high 49.0 percent from behind the 3-point line. He was a member of the 2015-16 WCC All-Freshman Team.

Brownridge is third in the WCC in scoring (17.3 ppg) and first in 3-pointers per game (3.2). He began the season outside the top 25 on the WCC all-time scoring list, but gradually moved his way to fourth.

Brownridge and Kratch have been iron men for the Broncos, playing in all 127 games the last four years.

Kratch is averaging 10.7 points (third on team) and 6.6 rebounds per game (first on the team/No. 7 in the WCC). He is also shooting team-high 49.1 percent from the floor, including 42.1 percent on 3-pointers (No. 4 in the league).

The Broncos (16-15, 10-8) are seeded No. 4 in the WCC Tournament, which gets underway Friday. Santa Clara faces fifth-seeded San Francisco at 3 p.m. Saturday in a quarterfinal matchup.
