SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's basketball announced Friday the signing of Henry Caruso, who spent the last four years at Princeton, for the 2017-18 season.
Caruso, a 6-foot-4 product of San Mateo, California, was a 2015-16 first-team All-Ivy League player, but had this past season cut short due to a toe injury. He will earn a medical redshirt for 2016-17 and have one year of eligibility remaining following his graduation from Princeton.
During 2015-16, he led the team in scoring (15.0 points per game), rebounding (6.2 pg) and steals (37) while ranking third in the Ivy League in 3-point field goal percentage (.446) en route to National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 13 honors.
Caruso started all eight of his appearances in 2016-17, averaging 9.5 points and 4.3 rebounds.
Matt Turner, Josip Vrankic and Shaquille Walters, who all signed in November, join Caruso in Santa Clara's recruiting class.

Caruso played at Junipero Serra High School where he was an all-state performer as a senior.
He emerged as a starter for Princeton at the end of his sophomore season (2014-15), scoring in double figures seven times in his last 16 games. He started all 29 contests the following year, helping the Tigers post a 22-7 record and reach the NIT.
In his three-plus seasons with Princeton, Caruso shot 51.7 percent from the floor, including 42.1 from behind the 3-point line.
