SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's basketball announced Thursday the signing of Tahj Eaddy, who spent last year at Southeast Missouri, for 2017-18.
Eaddy, a 6-foot-2 product of West Haven, Connecticut, was one of the top shooters in the Ohio Valley Conference during 2016-17 when his role increased as the year progressed.
During OVC play, he averaged 9.9 points and 2.9 assists per game, and shot 42.5 percent from the field, including 42.1 from beyond the 3-point line (No. 7 in the league), helping the Redhawks finish second in the west division.
He played in 30 of the team's 33 games, including starts in 12, all coming in his final 13 appearances.
Eaddy led the team in free-throw percentage (92.5) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0-to-1).
He will sit out 2017-18 per NCAA transfer rules and have three years of eligibility remaining.
Matt Turner, Josip Vrankic and Shaquille Walters, who all signed in November, and Henry Caruso, a graduate transfer from Princeton, join Eaddy in Santa Clara's recruiting class.

Last season, Eaddy scored in double figures 13 times, all occurring in his final 20 games. He scored a career-high 22 points against Morehead State (Feb. 4) and sank the game-winning 3-pointer with two seconds left in overtime to lead Southeast Missouri to a 78-75 come-from-behind win against Tennessee State (March 1) in the first round of the OVC Tournament.
Eaddy arrived at Southeast Missouri after spending one season Tennessee Preparatory Academy in Memphis, where he averaged 24.6 points and 4.2 assists per game en route to earning 2016 National Association of Christian Athletes Elite Division Most Valuable Player.
He spent his first three prep seasons at Notre Dame High School in West Haven, Connecticut.
