SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Jared Brownridge of Santa Clara men's basketball has signed a contract to play for Pallacanestro Mantova in Italy.
Stings Mantova, as the team is commonly known, is located in Mantua, Lombardy, and is a member of Serie A2, which features 32 teams and begins play in October.
Brownridge, a three-time first-team All-West Coast Conference choice, ended his career ranked second on the school's all-time scoring list and fourth in league history with 2,313 points.
He ranks first in Santa Clara history in 3-point FG percentage (40.3), second in 3-pointers made (385) and fourth in free-throw percentage (83.9).
Brownridge ended 2016-17 third in the league in scoring (18.1 ppg) and first in 3-pointers per game (3.2).

A native of Aurora, Illinois, Brownridge is the all-time leading scorer (1,272) in WCC games and played in all 129 games the last four years.
Brownridge helped the Broncos (17-16, 10-8) advance to the WCC Tournament semis for the first time since 2011 and post the best regular-season turnaround in the league. They recorded a five-game improvement (17-16) compared to 2015-16 when they were 11-20.
Brownridge, who graduated last month with a bachelor's degree in communication, has experience playing in Italy having traveled with the Broncos last August on an exhibition tour.
