Junior Guard on Preseason All-WCC Men’s Basketball Team

LAS VEGAS – Junior guard KJ Feagin landed on the 2017-18 preseason All-West Coast Conference men's basketball team, which was announced Thursday at the league's annual media day event at Orleans Arena.

One of 10 players voted to the squad by the league's coaches, Feagin was a second team All-WCC selection last season and is one of three starters returning this season.

In 2016-17, he finished second on the team in both scoring (14.6 ppg) and assists (4.4 pg), and shot a team-high 49.0 percent from behind the 3-point line, as well as a team-best 87.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Feagin earned All-WCC Freshman team honors in 2015-16

Santa Clara, who is about to start its second season under head coach Herb Sendek, was picked to finish fifth in WCC standings. The Broncos tied for fourth last season when they went 17-16 en route to finishing tied for fourth in the West Coast Conference standings. Despite having seven players miss more than a combined 70 games due to injury, Santa Clara reached the WCC Tournament semifinals for the first time in six years.

Other key returners include junior guard Matt Hauser and senior center Emmanuel Ndumanya, who both started a season ago, along Jarvis Pugh, Kai Healy and Henrik Jadersten.

The Broncos play eight of their 12 nonconference games at home, including the season opener on Friday, Nov. 10, against La Verne. Home matchups against Nevada, Valparaiso and San Jose State highlight the nonconference slate.
