Men’s Basketball Rolls in Friday’s Exhibition Game

SANTA CLARA, Calif.KJ Feagin posted a game-high 21 points and Henry Caruso scored 18 points and added 10 rebounds to lead four players in double figures for Santa Clara men's basketball team, which cruised to 103-61 victory over Saint Vincent College in Friday's exhibition game.

Matt Hauser tallied 11 points and dished out five assists and Emmanuel Ndumanya registered 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Broncos who shot 53 percent from the field, including 10 of 24 from beyond the 3-point line.

Austin Dedert scored a team-high 14 points and Matt D'Amico added 10 for the Bearcats who were out-rebounded 43-27 and committed 19 turnovers.

The Broncos, who used their bench liberally throughout the game, pulled away midway through the first half.

Feagin, Hauser and Matt Turner each nailed 3-pointers within a one-minute span to fuel a 15-4 run that pushed the lead to 33-15 with 8:17 left in the opening half.

The lead grew to 26 late in the first half and was the same with less than 10 minutes left in the game before the Broncos made another surge scoring 12 straight against Saint Vincent, which is located in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and plays in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, a member of NCAA Division III.

Caruso started the flurry with a layup and by the time Jarvis Pugh added another layup the Broncos led 92-55 with less than five minutes remaining in the game.

Santa Clara had just nine turnovers and posted 12 steals.

All 11 available players saw action for the Broncos, with six earning at least 20 minutes of action, but none more than 27.

The Broncos open the regular season on Friday when La Verne visits Leavey Center.
