Santa Clara Athletics Agrees to Multiyear Men’s Basketball Radio Deal

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara Athletics, Van Wagner Sports and Entertainment, and Salem Media Group announced a multiyear partnership Wednesday to broadcast Bronco men's basketball beginning with the 2017-18 season. The partnership will include a weekly interview of second-year head coach Herb Sendek and new promotional opportunities for Bronco Athletics.

At least 22 games will air on either KDOW-AM 1220 or KTRB-AM 860 with the remaining games streaming live on the West Coast Conference media platform – TheW.tv.

"We're proud to partner with KDOW 1220 to broadcast Santa Clara men's basketball games this season," said Santa Clara senior associate athletic director Jeff Mitchell. "We look forward to continuing to promote the Santa Clara brand and to provide opportunities for our fans to consume Bronco basketball."

Longtime Bay Area broadcaster and voice of the Broncos Anthony Passarelli returns for his 11th season and will once again be joined by former Santa Clara player and analyst John Stege. The broadcasts include a pregame show a few minutes before tipoff and a 15-minute postgame show.

The first broadcast airing on KDOW-AM 1220 is Friday, as the Broncos take on University of La Verne at Leavey Center. Tipoff and broadcast time is 7 p.m.

Sendek will join KDOW 1220 AM for a drive-time morning "Chatting with the Coach" interview in the 8 o'clock hour each Wednesday during the season.

Santa Clara promotional spots for the Bronco Bench, Bronco Athletics Fund and Bronco Athletics tickets and events will run throughout the season including ticket giveaways during the popular Rob Black & Your Money Program which airs live weekdays from 7 to 9 a.m. on KDOW-AM 1220.
