SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's basketball alum Jim Ellis passed away at home on December 8.
Ellis played for the Broncos from 1961-63 and after being awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service in the Army, returned to Santa Clara to get his law degree in 1971.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vickii; his two children: Terri & Kit; and one grandson.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Jim's family suggests contributions be made to the Santa Clara University men's basketball.
