Men's Basketball Senior Guard Earns Preseason All-Conference Honors

LAS VEGAS – Senior guard KJ Feagin of Santa Clara men's basketball landed on the 2018-19 preseason All-West Coast Conference team, which was announced Thursday at the league's annual media day event at Orleans Arena.

One of 10 players voted to the squad by the league's coaches, Feagin was a first team All-WCC selection last season and is one of two Bronco starters returning this season.

In 2017-18, he started all 31 games, averaging 17.5 ppg (fifth in the WCC) and 4.0 assists pg (ninth in the WCC). He led the WCC in free-throw percentage (86.8), the sixth-best single-season mark in school history.

Feagin earned second team All-WCC in 2016-17 and was on the all-freshman team one season earlier.

Santa Clara is about to start its third season under head coach Herb Sendek. Sophomore forward Josip Vrankic is the other returning starter. Senior foward Henrik Jadersten is the only other returner with extensive playing experience. The Broncos have eight newcomers and will have Tahj Eaddy available to play after sitting out due to transfer rules in 2017-18.

The Broncos play nine of their 14 nonconference games at home, including the season opener on Friday, Nov. 9, against Prairie View A&M. The WCC home opener is set for Thursday, Jan. 3 vs. San Diego.
