SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Plenty of big names around the game of basketball had congratulations for former Bronco Steve Nash who was named head coach of the Brooklyn Nets on September 8.
It will be the first coaching gig for Nash, a two-time NBA MVP, who served as a consultatnt for the Golden State Warriors from 2016-18, winning a pair of championships.
As a Bronco, Nash led the team to a pair of NCAA Tournaments and the team pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Tournament history. The 15th-seeded Broncos knocked off No. 2 seed and fifth-ranked Arizona, 64-61, in Salt Lake City. It marked only the second time a No. 15 seed had defeated a No. 2 in the NCAAs.
Congratulations to my friend @SteveNash on becoming the new head coach of the @BrooklynNets. Wishing you and the Nets franchise all the best! https://t.co/WBOYIHvhwl

Steve Nash is one of the best leaders and PGs our sport has had. He's always been awesome with me and my family too. Very happy for him and excited for the game!

BOLD move by Brooklyn but Steve Nash is one of basketball's greatest minds.

star players respect him, he's been their mentor.
& this could be GREAT for Kyrie's game with passing... which means it's even greater for his teammates (especially KD.)
Most importantly, he's an ally.
Not many things in the NBA would get me to say "holy sh**"
