Men's Basketball Hangs With Courageous Kids

May 14, 2008

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's basketball team celebrated Mother's Day this year giving back to the Santa Clara community. On Sunday, May 14, the Broncos participated in the 19th Annual Courageous Kids Day at California's Great America.

California's Great America, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, hosts children diagnosed with cancer and their families for a fun day at the park. The players teamed up to sign autographs, interact with the children and participate in games such as a water balloon toss, hula hoop contests and tether ball.

"It's a really good feeling to know that you can make someone's day a little bit better," said senior Josh Higgins. "It was great to be able to be there for those kids and give them a good time."

Courageous Kids Day provides children a "day off from cancer" to celebrate Mother's Day. It was an incredible experience for both the players and children. CLICK HERE to check out the photo gallery from the day!
