Meet Bronco Basketball Teams This Sunday at Women's Soccer Match!

"Meet the Bronco Basketball Teams" is set for the this Sunday, November 1 at halftime of the Bronco women's soccer match vs. No. 2 Portland at Buck Shaw Stadium. SCU women's soccer is ranked No. 14 currently.

The Santa Clara men's and women's basketball teams will be introduced to the fans at half-time and then sign autographs and pose for pictures at the entrance of Buck Shaw Stadium.

The men's basketball team plays Notre Dame du Namur in an exhibition at the Leavey Center on Fri.., Nov. 7 and then opens the regular season at home on Mon., Nov. 16 vs. Menlo College at 7 pm. Head coach Kerry Keating welcomes back WCC Newcomer of the Year in Kevin Foster - a 2009 All-WCC preseason coaches' selection and All-WCC Freshman team member Marc Trasolini. In addition to juniors Ben Dowdell, transfer Troy Payne, Nate Mensah and Michael Santos - Santa Clara has nine underclassmen on its roster this season, including five true freshmen. Look for Santa Clara to play an up-tempo style game this year with plenty of speed and quickness!

The women's basketball team features plenty of newcomers as they prepare for the 2009-10 exhibition home-opener Sat., Nov. 7 against Sonoma State. Jennifer Mountain enters her second season as Broncos' head coach. The program has welcomed seven true freshmen to the Mission Campus - in fact, 12 of the team's 16 players are underclassmen. Mountain and her coaching staff have brought-in Colorado's 5A `Player of the Year' Meagan Fulps and Anaheim's Telisha Anderson to play along-side sophomore guard Alyssa Shoji - adding depth to a team that is armed with one of the league's premier post players in All-WCC forward Lena Gipson.
