Santa Clara Men's Basketball Back On KNTS For 2007-08

Nov. 5, 2007

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University athletic department announced today that men's basketball games will air on 1220 KNTS for the fifth straight season. The broadcast slate begins with Monday night's exhibition game against Cal State Stanislaus. Along with KNTS, SantaClaraBroncos.com will broadcast every men's basketball game this season on the Bronco Radio Network. The Broncos also welcome Anthony Passarelli to the broadcasts for his first season with the men's basketball team after six years handling play-by-play duties for Santa Clara women's basketball.

"We have developed a great relationship with KNTS for the past four years," said Director of Athletics and Recreation Dan Coonan. "Fans know where to tune in for Bronco basketball now. 2007-08 should be another exciting season for Bronco basketball."

KNTS begins its broadcast schedule Monday night as the Broncos face CSU Stanislaus at the Leavey Center at 7:00 p.m. PT. Overall, the station will broadcast a minimum of 19 games this year with Passarelli behind the microphone, while the games against San Jose State and Stanford will also be broadcast on KNTS. Every game, including the KNTS broadcasts, will be streamed live on SantaClaraBroncos.com.

"We are excited to be working with Santa Clara again," said KNTS General Manager Ken Miller. "They had an excellent season last year and should be very competitive again. It has been a great partnership for us and we look forward to another season of Bronco basketball on KNTS."

News Talk 1220-KNTS is a talk-radio station based in Fremont. The station also airs San Jose State and Stanford basketball.

Passarelli spent the past six seasons calling Bronco women's basketball on SantaClaraBroncos.com, while also filling in a number of times for the men's basketball broadcasts. He has broadcast basketball for San Jose State in the past as well as serving as the play-by-play voice for the Salinas Peppers in minor league baseball.
