Men's Rowing Has Good Performance at San Diego Crew Classic

Results

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's rowing had a strong showing at the San Diego Crew Classic on Saturday and Sunday. The Varsity 8 boat finished third, the 2nd Varsity 8 finished fourth in the petite final, and the Novice 8 finished in fourth place as well.

"Overall we had a very good weekend," said Santa Clara head coach Jay Farwell. "Our team performance was one of the best in memory with our boats competing in very competitive fields and coming away with some good results. The Crew Classic provides us with an early look as to how we stack up against our west coast competition and we are definitely in the mix at this point in the season. We have a great deal of work to do in the coming weeks and we hope we can continue to build on our past performances this season."

Farwell was especially proud of the 2nd Varsity 8 boat after putting together a great race on Saturday and finishing up the weekend with a solid Sunday performance.

The Broncos return to the water April 16-17 at the Stanford Invitational in Redwood City, Calif.
