Men's Rowing Heads to WIRAs

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's rowing begins the championship leg of its season at WIRAs Saturday and Sunday on Lake Natoma.

The last action for the Broncos was April 13-14 at the Stanford Invitational. The team got picked up wins with each of its three Varsity 8 boats that made the trip.

"Our team is looking forward to the WIRA Championship this weekend," Santa Clara head coach Jay Farwell said. "We completed a very good week of practice after the Stanford Invite and we have made a few lineup changes in the Varsity 8 that we believe will provide us with some additional speed. So far this week is off to a very good start and we will be ready for racing this weekend. Both Gonzaga and UCSD have been producing some good results so we expect to be tested this weekend - the team will be ready for the challenge."

After WIRAs, the Broncos head to Western Sprints where they will try to qualify for the IRA National Championships for the fifth year in a row.
