STOCKTON, Calif. - Santa Clara University's men's golf team had four players post rounds in the 60's, including freshman Martin Keskari (Frankfurt, Germany) who shot final-round 69 to finish UOP's Stockton Convention & Visitors Bureau Pacific Invitational 14-under par. Keskari tied for third with scores of 69-64-69.
Keskari out-played the entire field in Tuesday's second round. In round three, junior Scott Lowe (Calgary, Alberta), and freshmen Carlos Briones (San Lorenzo, Calif.) and Drew Miller (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) all went under par. Lowe fired a 67, Miller 68 and Briones 69.
Eighth-year head coach Rob Miller is playing four freshmen for the first time in his tenure at SCU. The class just keeps getting better, with collective rounds of 282-274-273 at Brookside Country Club, putting the Broncos at 35-under as a team. SCU finished 8th among a strong field of programs, many ranked among the nation's top 100.
SCU enjoyed an outstanding fall campaign and will break for the winter before teeing it up in competition again at the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson, January 28-29.
