PULLMAN, Wash. - Santa Clara finished its second event of the year fourth out of nine teams at Washington State's Itani Quality Homes Men's Golf Collegiate. Both senior Gio Gandionco and true freshman Michiel Eyre III were among the top 10 on the individual leaderboard.
Host Washington State (-33), on their campus course, ran away with the team title by 20 shots. Santa Clara was 5-under par as a team, just a handful of shots behind Seattle (-13) and Cal State Fullerton (-9), who finished second and third respectively.
Gandionco and Eyre III tied for 9th. Evan McLeod (pictured) - who missed the entire 2014-2015 season with injury - returned to post SCU's lowest round. McLeod was able to shoot a 4-under par 68 Monday afternoon on the sprawling 7,308-yard Palouse Ridge Golf Course set amongst the rolling hills of Eastern Washington.
