SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara's Hayden Shieh was named West Coast Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for October.

Three top-10 showings, including his fourth-career victory, and six of nine rounds in the 60s, aided Shieh in reaching as high as No. 4 in the Golfstat.com individual ranking during October.

The senior shot 15-under par 201 (64-67-70) to earn a one-shot victory at The Jackrabbit (Oct. 1-3), a performance that was followed up by a fourth-place showing in a strong field at Cal's Alistair MacKenzie Invitational (Oct. 9-10). He posted a 13-under 200 (67-65-68) to finish just two shots off the pace.

In the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational (Oct. 26-28), Shieh's final-round 7-under 65 helped the then 20th-ranked Broncos hold on for their second win of the season. After shooting rounds of 71-73 on the opening day, leaving him tied for 30th, Shieh, who was ranked eighth in last week's Golfstat ranking, blistered The Reserve at Spanos Park course on the final day to finish with a 7-under 209, which tied him for ninth, his 19th-career top-10 finish. The Broncos, who are currently ranked 16th in the nation, held off No. 29 BYU and 48th-ranked Saint Mary's to secure a four-shot win.
