Men’s Golf In Oregon For Bandon Dunes Championship

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's golf returns to action Sunday at the 14-team Bandon Dunes Championship. The field will play a single 18-hole round over three days on the 6,633-yard, par-71 Pacific Dunes Course at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

The Broncos are looking to bounce back from a 12th-place finish at the Arizona NIT in their previous event and enter the Bandon Dunes Championship as the No. 51 team in the country in the recent Golfstat.com poll. Clemson (15), Arizona State (22) and Oregon (24) are higher ranked teams that will be competing.

Santa Clara's top three players will all be competing in their eighth tournament of the season, led by senior Hayden Shieh, who tops the club with 71.14 stroke average.

Sophomore Matt McCarty won his first collegiate tournament last month at The Farms and owns an average of 71.29. Junior Derek Ackerman has played all 21 rounds with a 71.67 average.

Will DelBiaggio matched a season-low round of 71 and shot even-par at the Arizona NIT. He qualified for the five-man team along with freshman Jack Avrit. Complete team and individual season stats are viewable by clicking here.
