Men’s Golfer Earns National Award

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) named Hayden Shieh of Santa Clara men's golf to the Division I PING All-West Region team for the second year in a row.

Shieh, a senior, made his fourth-straight appearance in the NCAA Championships. After three straight individual appearances, he led the Broncos to their second-ever trip to the NCAAs.

He competed in 12 events this year, posting six top 10 finishes, including a victory in The Jackrabbit (Oct. 1-3) in Valentine, Nebraska with a 15-under 201 (64-67-70). Shieh was first on the team and 26th in the nation. He hit at or under par in 22 of his 36 rounds.

At the conclusion of the 2017-18 regular season, Shieh ranked No. 77 in the nation according to head-to-head player rankings of Golfstat.com. He posted a 70.44 stroke average on the season.

Shieh was a first-team All-West Coast Conference selection for the fourth-straight season.
