SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Derek Ackerman and Matt McCarty of Santa Clara men's golf were a voted to the West Coast Conference preseason team.
That duo was among 10 golfers to earn spots on the squad.
McCarty was a first-team all-league honoree last season after finishing 15th at the WCC Championship (April 16-18) with a 1-over 217. The junior played in all 12 events, recording six top 10 showings and a 71.19 scoring average, second on the team.
A senior, Ackerman averaged 71.78 strokes per round, which was third on the team during 2017-18. He had three top 10 showings and was an honorable mention All-WCC pick.
The Broncos open the 2018-19 campaign on Monday at the two-day Showdown in the Rockies, which will be held in Driggs, Idaho.
