STANFORD, Calif. – Matt McCarty and Konrad Brauckmeyer each shot 2-over 72 to pace Santa Clara men's golf during Friday's action at The Goodwin.
Opening-round co-leader Derek Ackerman is top Santa Clara golfer on the individual leaderboard. He shot a 74 and is tied for 15th at 1-over-par 145.
The Broncos dropped from tied for fifth into a 12th-place tie with San Francisco after posting a second-round total of 13-over 293.
Host Stanford leads the 26-school field with a 36-hole total of 2-under 558. USC is second at 5-over and California is 6-over. Santa Clara is at 20-over 580.
Nine golfers are under par led by Kaito Onishi of USC who has a two-round total of 5-under 135 (69-66). Colin Morikawa of Cal is two shots back of Onishi.
Ackerman, Daniel O'Loughlin of Colorado and David Snyder of Stanford each posted a 3-under 67 in Thursday's opening round. After a double bogey on the seventh hole Friday, Ackerman shot even par over the remaining 11 holes.
McCarty was 1-under over the final eight holes Friday and is tied for 27th at 3-over 143 (71-72).
Brauckmeyer is tied for 47th at 6-over 146 in the 135-player field.
The 54-hole tournament concludes on Saturday. Tee times begin at 7:30 a.m. The Broncos will play with Northwestern and Peperdine starting at 1:20 p.m.
