SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – Freshman Alex Conley paced the Santa Clara men's golf group of four individuals competing at the Bill Cullum Invitational with a tournament total 2-under 214 to earn a share of 25th place.

The event served as a qualifier for a spot on the five-player team that will compete at the Stockton Invitational, which starts Monday at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton.

Conley entered Tuesday among the top-10 but slipped a bit with a final-round 76 to finish tied with four other golfers. San Diego State's Puwit Anupansuebsai was individual medalist with a tournament record 18-under 198.

Nolan Forsman ended the day at 11-over 227 (76-74-77) and Oscar Zimmerman finished at 14-over 230 (80-72-78). Both first-year players were making their first collegiate starts.

Senior Will Del Biaggio carded the Broncos' lowest final-round score with a 3-over 75 to finish tied for 79th at 12-over 228.

"Nobody got it going today," head coach Rob Miller said. "The conditions weren't really good and everybody struggled. It was a good experience for the guys, though, especially the freshmen. Now they have a better idea of what to expect."

San Diego State won the team title by 22 swings over Grand Canyon with a 40-under 824 total.
