Second Round Suspended For Men’s Golf At Orange County Collegiate Classic

COTO DE CAZA, Calif. – Second-round play at Santa Clara men's golf spring season opener was suspended due to darkness. The field will resume play at the first annual Orange County Collegiate Classic at 8:30 a.m. PT on Tuesday to make the middle round official with the final round immediately following.

Teams and individuals were scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday.

With several holes remaining to be played in the second round the Broncos find themselves trying to dig out of a steep hole after an opening 314 (+26) lodged them near the bottom of the 17-team field.

"It was a rough first day of the spring for us," head coach Rob Miller said. "We were rusty, hopefully things turn around. We'll tee it up tomorrow and hope for better results."

The Broncos made up some ground on the 6,986-yard, par-72 Coto de Caza South Course before the second round was halted.
