Men's Golf Finishes Ninth at Oregon State Invitational

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Berk Harvey's 1-over-par 214 helped Santa Clara men's golf finish in ninth place at the Oregon State Invitational.

Harvey had rounds of 67-73-74 to end up in a tie for 13th place at two-day tournament that concluded Tuesday. The Broncos finished with a total of 33-over 885 (291-298-296). They started the final round in ninth place and were able to hold off Cal Poly which ended up two shots back in 10th after a 293 over the last 18 holes.

Washington cruised to the team title by carding a 14-under 838 at the Trysting Tree Golf Club course. Boise State was second at 3-under 849. Those were the only two teams under-par in the 14-team field.

Konrad Brauckmeyer was the next closest finisher for Santa Clara, but he was tied for 60th at 15-over 228 (74-79-75).

Jack Avrit and Jolo Magcalayo were each tied for 65th at 16-over. Avrit posted rounds of 75-69-85 and Magcalayo went 75-81-73 in his first collegiate event.

Rounding out the Bronco lineup was Oscar Zimmmerman who ended tied for 70th at 17-over 230 (79-77-74).

The Broncos will play in the Saint Mary's Invitational (Nov. 8-10) to close out the fall.
