SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Coming off an 11-win season, Santa Clara men's soccer released its 2013 schedule on Tuesday. The season opens on Aug. 30 at Buck Shaw vs. Southern Illinois and features just two non-conference home games.

"With our eight non-conference matches we look to play as many out of region opponents as possible, coupled with our local rivalries," said Santa Clara head coach Cam Rast. "Next year we have Cal, San Jose State and Stanford as our local rivalries which are always great matchups for us. We have also looked to travel out of region and bring some teams in to bolster our strength of schedule and provide our guys with a different look of quality opponent. Next year's schedule sets up very nicely. We have 20 matched that count towards our record and we have some matches in the top-20. We also have our conference games which are always tough."

The Broncos will visit Washington, who advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2012, on Sept. 3 and then return home to play Stanford on Sept. 7. Santa Clara will travel to New Mexico to take part in the New Mexico Tournament Sept 13-15. New Mexico advanced to the 2012 Sweet 16. The Broncos will play at local rival San Jose State and Cal before conference play begins.

West Coast Conference action starts on Oct. 4 at San Diego. The Toreros went to the Elite 8 before falling to eventual national runner-up Georgetown. The first home conference game will be Oct. 11 vs. San Francisco. The season wraps-up with senior day vs. San Diego at Buck Shaw on Nov. 17.
