BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Concluding nonconference play with the top-ranked team in the country, Santa Clara men's soccer fell at No. 1 Indiana 5-0 Saturday evening.
The Broncos (0-9) were able to keep it close for the first 30 minutes and created some chances to take the lead, but the Hoosiers (8-0-2) offense exploded with four goals in the less than 10 minutes towards the end of the first half.
The Hoosiers got on the board for the first time in the 32nd minute off a rebound and scored again in the 36th. Five minutes later, they added two more goals in the span of 25 seconds to take a 4-0 lead.
Indiana added one more goal in the 65th minute.

- Santa Clara is now 3-4-1 all-time against Indiana.
- Henning Jolivet made seven saves.
- The Broncos attempted eight shots and put two on goal.
- Santa Clara has now faced five straight opponents (SMU, Seattle, No. 17 Washington, Cal, No. 1 Indiana) that at least received votes in the most recent top-25 poll. The Broncos have also faced West Virginia who received votes and then-No. 6 Maryland to start the season. The Terrapins are currently No. 3 in the nation.
