Two Men’s Soccer Student-Athletes Named To WCC All-Academic Team

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Sophomore Sam Agosti and senior Valdemar Andersen of Santa Clara men's soccer were named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic team, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.  
 
The WCC recognizes student-athletes who have earned at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, be a significant contributor to the team, have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing with at least one year in residence completed and participate in at least 50 percent of the completed contests.
 
Agosti boasts a 3.93 grade point average as a business major.  The Seattle native appeared in 15 matches, including starting in all but one West Coast Conference matches with two assists to his credit.  The forward logged 619 minutes in conference play out of 651 available minutes.  
 
Andersen has a 3.70 GPA as an accounting major.  The six foot five central defender is a two-time WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention in 2015 and 2016.  This season, the Aarhus, Denmark, native broke out offensively scoring five goals to garner second team All-WCC while starting in all 16 matches he played in.
